River Fishing

I do a lot on the weekends and it’s not always cycling! I think this is something people ask me a lot so here’s what I’ve got for you: 4×4 river camping! I recently went with with my friends — the same ones who have been appearing on the blog like here and here. This is what happened somewhere along Pahang river.

First, we fished like real men in the water.

Then we raved over our great work and the whopping size of those fresh fishes. Ikan semarau, ikan haruan, ikan keli sungai, todd, you name it.

Finally, we got down to business cooking up our fresh caught fish and feasted! We went down to every sliver of tender meat off those fish bones. That was the order of business every day we were by the riverside. But while fish was our main meal, we also had some fun with a couple of these froggies.

Looks more like a biology lab than a cooking station.

Boys will be boys and men, will also be boys. Fishing aside, we also went a little extreme with the 4×4 cars and roughed it out in the jungle! Drove up and downhill 45 degree off-road slopes till one of the cars overturned and we had to just figure out how to get it back up. Insane, but fun!

The riverside was deeply enveloped in the jungle and obviously there was no coverage. It felt so good to just leave our phones in our bags and enjoy the nature. It was calm, natural and such a relaxing time.

And speaking of nature, I got bitten by a bee during the trip. My entire body was itching and swollen for FIVE WHOLE HOURS.

Still recognise this face?

Maybe this is how I’ll look like when I’m 80 years old. Haha. But drinking tons of water and getting enough rest just put me right back in good health. The natural detox method!
