Arriving at the High Commission of Malaysia in London on the 25th of July, 2012.

High Commission of Malaysia, London.

We were met with an unexpected visit.

This marked the end of a long journey from Malaysia to London, undertaken to convey unwavering support to the entire Malaysian contingent participating in the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Additionally, our presence signified our hopes for Lee Chong Wei’s pursuit of a Gold medal.

On that very night, we had the privilege of being invited to a truly special Berbuka Puasa dinner, during the sacred month of fasting, in the esteemed company of Seri Paduka Baginda Yang Di-Pertuan Agong and Seri Paduka Baginda Raja Permaisuri Agong. This exclusive event took place at Hyatt Regency London The Churchill.

Photographer Chris Levine captured his most exquisite image of Queen Elizabeth II using a digital camera mounted on a rail, which swiftly took 200 shots in a mere 8 seconds. The Queen graciously complied with the request to remain still for those 8 seconds, exuding an air of relaxation and regal composure.

Sharing this memorable evening were two iconic figures, the legendary Malaysian cyclist Adiq Othman and Amir Mustafa.

This experience marked my first-ever grand Berbuka Puasa dinner, and it unfolded in the company of numerous prominent figures, making it a truly unforgettable event in London.
